The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission urged micro, small and medium enterprises to incorporate and use the capital market to finance long-term growth. At a three-day event attended by more than 600 business owners, the SEC provided guidance on company registration, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and access to its online services. The SEC also highlighted measures to reduce compliance costs. It increased the discount on corporate document requests from 50% in 2025 to 75% in 2026, generating almost PHP 211 million in discounts as of June 2026. MSMEs also receive a 20% discount on corporate registration fees and a 25% discount on fees for amendments to articles of incorporation involving capital increases, with these registration-related discounts totaling about PHP 149 million.
