The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has appointed Christine Kieffer as senior vice president of its Office of Investor Education and president of the FINRA Investor Education Foundation, effective immediately. The move puts Kieffer in charge of FINRA’s investor education strategy and the foundation’s research and education initiatives focused on financial stability, investing goals, and fraud prevention. Kieffer has worked in FINRA’s Office of Investor Education since it was created and has spent more than 20 years helping shape FINRA’s investor education approach and the foundation’s core programs. FINRA said her work has included partnerships with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and investor groups on financial capability, investor protection, and fraud prevention and intervention initiatives. She had served as interim president of the foundation since April and, before joining FINRA, held roles at Sallie Mae and Nasdaq.
