The Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA) issued a public statement warning that the Aster Dex decentralised virtual asset exchange is not associated with, or operating as, a Seychelles registered entity and has not been authorised to operate in Seychelles. The statement notes that Aster Dex, operating through www.asterdex.com, does not and has not had authorisation under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024 and is not registered under the International Business Companies Act, 2016. The FSA reminded consumers to verify whether a virtual asset service provider or virtual asset product is licensed or regulated in the jurisdiction it claims, and highlighted that it publishes lists of authorised non-bank financial service providers (including virtual asset services) and registrations of Initial Coin Offerings and Non-Fungible Tokens. It also encouraged the public to report suspected unauthorised or unlicensed virtual asset activity via a form on the FSA website.
