The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan held an educational session for investment companies and other market participants on new capital market instruments, linked to its 2024–2026 financial sector development strategy objectives to broaden the range of capital market products and develop regulation aligned with international practice. The session covered securitisation, green bonds as an environmental, social and governance-oriented instrument, and sukuk as Islamic securities. It included presentations on international experience, how the instruments function and can be implemented, and the Central Bank’s regulatory approaches, followed by interactive discussions. The Central Bank positioned the initiative as part of a continuing programme to strengthen market participants’ professional knowledge and sustain awareness-raising efforts.
