The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has granted a restricted banking licence under the Banking Ordinance to ABN AMRO Clearing Bank N.V., a Netherlands-incorporated institution, with effect from 29 August 2025. Following the licensing decision, the number of restricted licence banks in Hong Kong is 16.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has issued a restricted banking licence to ABN AMRO Clearing Bank N.V., effective 29 August 2025. This brings the total number of restricted licence banks in Hong Kong to 16.
