The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan has revoked the licence of Lombard Astana Gold LLP to carry out microfinance activities in the form of pawnshop services. The revocation was based on the firm not conducting activities for six consecutive calendar months. The Agency also clarified that losing the licence does not release borrowers from fully meeting their obligations to the organisation, and borrowers remain liable under the terms of their microcredit agreements.
