The Reserve Bank of Australia reported total assets and liabilities of AUD 361.217 billion at the close of business on Aug. 19, 2026, an increase of AUD 2.705 billion over the week. Gold and foreign exchange assets rose by AUD 3.535 billion, mainly reflecting transactions, including swaps and foreign securities, while Australian dollar investments fell by AUD 1.271 billion, also mainly due to transactions. On the liabilities side, Exchange Settlement balances declined by AUD 4.493 billion to AUD 205.733 billion. This was more than offset by increases of AUD 3.847 billion in other liabilities and AUD 3.098 billion in deposits excluding Exchange Settlement balances.
