The Central Bank of the Philippines highlighted the launch of a Starlink-powered public Wi-Fi service at Pasig Mega Market as part of its agreement with the Department of Information and Communications Technology to improve connectivity and widen the reach of Paleng-QR Ph Plus. At the June 16 launch, Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat witnessed a digital payment made using the satellite internet service. The initiative is aimed at supporting digital payments in public markets, public transportation and businesses through QR Ph, the national standard for quick response codes.
