The British Columbia Financial Services Authority has released its second annual Consumer Complaints and Investigations Report, summarising themes and outcomes from its compliance, complaints-handling and investigative work for the period from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025. The report indicates BCFSA closed more complaints than it received during the year and is accompanied by a new “at a glance” visual summary. BCFSA received 1,890 complaints and closed 2,077. Real estate complaints rose by 14%, while insurance enforcement activity saw collections in lieu of administrative penalties increase from CAD 30,000 to CAD 200,000.
