At its annual year-end meeting with commercial bank leaders and the Union of Banks of Kyrgyzstan, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Chairman Melis Turgunbaev highlighted the financial system’s resilience and record growth in key indicators in 2025 and set out 2026 priorities including bank recapitalisation, digital transformation, stronger measures to counter the financing of criminal activity and money laundering, enhanced cybersecurity and deeper international cooperation.
