The Central Bank of the UAE will hold its second Climate Forum in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 8, 2026, bringing together central banks, regulators and financial institutions to examine climate risk, sustainable finance and the transition to net zero. Building on the first forum’s focus on implementing climate related financial measures, the event will consider regulatory frameworks and banking practices needed to strengthen financial institutions’ readiness for climate risks. Discussions will cover the strategic implications of climate change, sectoral transition plans and their financing, public-private partnerships, climate data and the effects of climate risks on monetary policy and banking supervision. On Oct. 9, the central bank will also hold its inaugural Climate Research Seminar with the London School of Economics and Political Science’s Centre for Economic Transition Expertise, focusing on research into climate, sustainable investment and monetary policy to inform financial and banking policy.
