The Seychelles Financial Services Authority issued a warning that the website finexbox.com, allegedly operated by FINEXBOX GROUP LIMITED, is not authorised to operate under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024. The authority noted that FINEXBOX GROUP LIMITED was previously incorporated under the International Business Companies Act but has never been authorised to provide virtual asset services, and that the company was struck off and dissolved on 1 January 2022 and is therefore no longer a legal entity. Consumers are reminded to verify whether a virtual asset service provider or virtual asset product is licensed or regulated in the jurisdiction it claims to operate from, and that the authority publishes details of authorised or licensed non-bank financial service providers, including virtual asset services, as well as registrations of Initial Coin Offerings and Non-Fungible Tokens. The public is encouraged to report suspected unauthorised or unlicensed virtual asset service provider activity via the reporting form on the authority’s website, as monitoring of the sector continues.
