Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance announced the formation of a selection committee to run the process for appointing the Deputy Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) for the 2025–2030 term, and opened online applications for candidates. The committee, established on 17 April 2025 and chaired by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, includes representatives from the government, Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority (OJK), as well as members from the banking community and the insurance industry. It is mandated to set the selection timetable and mechanism, receive and screen applications, conduct administrative checks and fit-and-proper assessments, and submit at least three shortlisted names per position to the President. Applications are open from 29 April 2025 to 6 May 2025, with eligibility criteria including Indonesian citizenship, good integrity and health, no bankruptcy history, no serious criminal record, no political party management role, and experience in the financial services sector. The selection process is scheduled to take up to 20 working days from the committee’s establishment date. Once the committee submits candidates, the President will select and forward at least two names per position to the House of Representatives (DPR), which has up to 10 working days from receipt to conduct its own fit-and-proper test and return its results to the President for appointment.
