The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has opened applications for its 2026 Consumer Participation Program, which annually selects consumer representatives to participate in NAIC meetings and help ensure insurance consumers’ perspectives are reflected in insurance regulation. Applications are due by 31 October 2025. The NAIC will appoint both funded and unfunded consumer representatives. Funded representatives receive travel-expense reimbursement and must demonstrate commitment and expertise in NAIC-relevant insurance issues, participate fully in NAIC national meetings and related calls, and have no conflicting obligations to industry; unfunded representatives may apply if they do not need financial support. All applicants must use a new automated application and submit the required documents. Selections are expected in December, with notifications to follow ahead of the 2026 NAIC Spring National Meeting.
