The Securities and Exchange Board of India has revised the mutual fund registration application following changes to the mutual fund and intermediaries regulations. The new Form A consolidates the forms previously used for in-principle approval and final registration into a single application covering both stages of the process. The first stage captures sponsor eligibility, ownership and capital, financial standing, regulatory history, governance and key policies, including additional information for pooled investment vehicles and private equity sponsors. The second stage covers the proposed asset management company’s ownership, governance, business plan, infrastructure, investor services, technology, risk management and compliance arrangements. All other conditions in the Master Circular for Mutual Funds remain unchanged.
