The Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced the members of its Agricultural Advisory Committee, re-launching the panel to provide the agency with structured input from agricultural growers, producers and other market participants. The committee is positioned as a source of information and advice to help ensure CFTC policy and regulatory decisions reflect agricultural industry perspectives. Chairman Michael S. Selig is sponsoring the committee and nominated Emma Johnston as the designated federal officer. Appointees include representatives from agribusiness and commodity firms such as Cargill, Bunge and Archer Daniels Midland, exchanges and intermediaries including CME Group, ICE Futures US, MIAX Futures Exchange and R.J. O’Brien, federal agencies including the United States Department of Agriculture, and a range of producer, trade and financial services associations.
