The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) set out the main guidelines and proposals developed by its Working Group on the National Policy for Access to Insurance, following completion of the group’s final report with recommendations for regulatory improvements and an institutional and market strategy to expand insurance access in Brazil. The report highlights the need for a more in-depth diagnosis to help drive wider uptake of insurance. Established under SUSEP’s 2023/2024 Regulatory Plan, the working group created a dialogue channel among market participants and stakeholders, including insurers, policyholders, insurance brokers, reinsurers, insurtechs, specialists and public authorities, with the aim of building a quantitative and qualitative assessment to support broader access for citizens and businesses.
