Ecuador's Superintendency of Banks administered a technical knowledge exam to 266 applicants as part of its process to appoint customer ombudsmen nationwide. The test was held simultaneously in Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca and Manta. A total of 175 candidates sat the exam in Quito, 60 in Guayaquil, 23 in Cuenca and eight in Manta. The assessment covered the Organic Monetary and Financial Code, the Organic Administrative Code, resolutions of the Financial Regulation Board and the Superintendency’s rules. The competition is intended to fill 24 posts and candidates must still pass an interview stage assessing behavioural and technical competencies orally. Results will then be published and notified, followed by a period for filing objections. Roles will be assigned in score order before final appointments are made.
