The Central Bank of Algeria published a communiqué on the foreign exchange entitlement for travel abroad, clarifying how the increased allowance of EUR 750 for adult citizens and EUR 300 for minors is to be accessed and warning against attempts to misuse it. The bank recalled that, under Instruction No. 05-2025 of 17 July 2025, the entitlement is available to any resident Algerian citizen once per reference year, which runs from 20 July to 19 July. It also stressed that the allowance is provided only to the effective beneficiary and that Article 10 of the instruction prohibits and sanctions any manoeuvre aimed at diverting the use of the entitlement, in accordance with applicable legislation.
