The Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFCA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye (IFOTP) to promote investment, facilitate market access for businesses, and deepen business collaboration between Qatar and Türkiye. The MoU provides for the exchange of publicly available economic and investment information and for joint activities such as business forums, seminars, exhibitions, and high-level visits. It also covers mutual support for business delegations, cooperation to encourage joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and greenfield and brownfield projects, and the sharing of institutional policies and best practices to support cross-border investment. Under the arrangement, QFCA will provide guidance and licensing assistance to IFOTP-referred companies seeking to establish or expand in Qatar, subject to alignment with the Qatar Financial Centre’s legal and regulatory framework; IFOTP cited Qatari foreign direct investment in Türkiye of USD 3.5 billion since 2002 and total FDI stock of USD 7 billion at end-2024.
