The Ukraine National Commission on Securities and Stock Market published commodity exchange trading statistics showing total turnover of UAH 188.5 billion in the first half of 2025, up 29.5% from UAH 145.6 billion in the same period of 2024. Electricity was the main driver, with trading volume rising 58.5% to UAH 131.4 billion and accounting for 69.7% of total turnover. Trading also increased for unprocessed timber and timber (up 30.9% to UAH 20.1 billion), natural gas (up 16.2% to UAH 10.7 billion) and coal (up 48.9% to UAH 194.6 million). By contrast, exchange trading in oil-industry commodities declined, with oil and distillates down 28.4%, liquefied petroleum gas down 35.2% and bitumen down 34.2%; these products represented 13.9% of total transaction volume.
