Central Bank of Paraguay holds ninth economic and financial education fair in Caacupé for the first time outside Asunción

The Central Bank of Paraguay held its ninth Economic and Financial Education Fair at the Dr. Raúl Peña National School in Caacupé, marking the first time the event has taken place outside the capital region. The move was aimed at expanding access for educational communities farther from Asunción and strengthening secondary students’ skills and knowledge in economics and finance through in-person, interactive learning. The fair was structured around five educational stations covering the central bank’s functions and banknote security features, the main payment methods used in Paraguay, responsible money management and saving, and the distinction between wants and needs in financial decision-making, followed by a review session to reinforce learning. Representatives from the financial inclusion and banking supervision areas, as well as the insurance supervisor, took part, with the insurance team adding basic insurance concepts to the activities.
