Chile’s Financial Market Commission (CMF) published biannual indicators on motor vehicle insurance repair times for July–December 2025, reporting an average of 52.3 days from filing a claim until the vehicle was available for pickup, continuing a downward trend that began in 2023. The CMF also made available a public web tool that allows users to compare repair times by insurer, vehicle brand and model, insured region, and workshop type. The figures are compiled from insurers’ biannual reports submitted under Circular Letter No. 2,236. Average time from filing a claim to the vehicle entering a workshop was 29 days, while 89,084 insured vehicles had accidents in the first half of 2025, up 7.72% from the preceding half-year. The insured vehicle population reached 2,227,842 by the second half of 2025, and insurers reported 4,705 workshop agreements, with 32.71% in the Metropolitan Region; the CMF notes these agreements do not necessarily correspond to unique workshop establishments.
