The Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AMLA) has concluded a multilateral Memorandum of Understanding with the European Supervisory Authorities, the European Banking Authority, European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority and European Securities and Markets Authority, setting a framework for cooperation and information exchange. The MoU sets out how AMLA and the ESAs will exchange information and cooperate in practice to perform their respective tasks in an efficient, effective and timely manner. It aims to promote supervisory convergence across the EU financial sector, support cross-sectoral learning and capacity building among supervisors, and forms part of the financial-sector cooperation framework required under the AMLA Regulation, including Article 91, which requires AMLA to conclude a multilateral MoU with the ESAs.
