The Central Bank of Brazil ordered the extrajudicial liquidation of Entrepay Instituição de Pagamento S.A. and extended the measure to Acqio Adquirência Instituição de Pagamento S.A. and Octa Sociedade de Crédito Direto S.A., institutions within the Entrepay conglomerate. The group is classified as a small prudential conglomerate in segment S4, with Entrepay Instituição de Pagamento S.A. as the lead institution. In December 2025, it held around 0.009% of total assets of Brazil’s National Financial System. The Central Bank cited deterioration in the lead institution’s economic and financial condition, breaches of rules governing its activities and losses that subject creditors to abnormal risk. It also noted that, as payment institutions and a direct credit company, the liquidated entities do not raise funding through instruments covered by the Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC). The Central Bank will continue to take measures to establish responsibilities; the outcome may lead to administrative sanctions and referrals to other competent authorities. Under the law, the assets of the controllers and former managers of the institutions subject to liquidation have been made unavailable.
