The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has opened its redesigned Money in Motion exhibit, a free public installation intended to explain currency, the U.S. economy, and the Federal Reserve's mission through interactive displays. The exhibit, located in the Bank's lobby near Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, opened to the public on June 4, 2026 as part of preparations for America's 250th anniversary. The reworked exhibit includes nearly 400 historic artifacts from the Bank's coin and currency collection and hands-on features covering the evolution of money, Federal Open Market Committee interest rate decisions, and counterfeit detection. Items on display include one of the few remaining USD 100,000 bills, early quarters, and California Gold Rush gold coins, alongside a film on the Federal Reserve's history and functions. Admission is free, and the exhibit is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with last entry at 4 p.m.
