The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has published its Annual Superannuation Bulletin for the year ended 30 June 2025, providing an annual statistical snapshot of the superannuation sector across APRA-regulated funds, self-managed super funds, exempt public sector schemes and life office statutory funds. As at 30 June 2025, total superannuation assets were AUD 4,337bn, comprising AUD 3,047bn in APRA-regulated assets, AUD 1,052bn in self-managed super fund assets, AUD 178bn in exempt public sector scheme assets and AUD 60bn in life office statutory fund assets. For entities with more than six members over the year, total contributions were AUD 209bn (AUD 101bn for MySuper products) and total benefit payments were AUD 132bn (AUD 27bn for MySuper). Member benefits totalled AUD 3,117bn (AUD 1,184bn for MySuper), with average account balances of AUD 131,980 overall and AUD 76,729 for MySuper.
