Thailand Office of Insurance Commission announced a joint initiative with insurance industry partners in Nan province that combines a pilot reforestation project to restore the Nan headwaters with a public campaign on travel safety during an extended holiday period, positioned as part of its ESG and loss-prevention agenda. The programme comprises three activities: a road-safety outreach procession around Mueang Nan district and distribution of 300 motorcycle helmets supported by the Road Accident Victims Protection Company, LMG Insurance Public Company Limited and AIA; an exhibition to promote insurance knowledge involving industry and partner networks; and the planting of more than 20,000 trees (including rosewood and yang na) valued at over THB 2.6 million. The reforestation is implemented with the Regional Training Center for Community Forest Asia and Pacific (RECOFTC) under the “Trees 4 ALL” scheme, which includes planting and ongoing monitoring of tree survival and growth by local farmers.
