The Bank of Spain’s Executive Commission approved a rotation of deputy directors general, appointing Juan Peñalosa as Deputy Director General for Financial Conduct and Banknotes and Helena Tejero as Deputy Director General for Strategy, People and Data. It also broadened Carlos Conesa’s responsibilities, with his role retitled Deputy Director General for Operations, Markets and Payment Systems. The changes were presented as a first step in launching pilot projects to promote internal mobility across different areas of the Bank, in line with the strategic plan approved in May. Conesa, previously Deputy Director General for Payments and Market Infrastructures, adds responsibility for the Market Analysis and Intelligence and Operations departments to his existing remit for Financial Innovation and Market Infrastructures and Payment Systems. All appointments were ratified by the Governing Council.
