Canada's Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions’ Office of the Chief Actuary has launched the peer review process for its next (32nd) Actuarial Report on the Canada Pension Plan and opened recruitment for an external peer review panel. The actuarial report is expected to be released in December 2025. The external peer review is intended to ensure the report meets professional standards and is based on reasonable methods and assumptions. Canada Pension Plan actuarial reports are prepared every three years and are used by federal and provincial Ministers of Finance when reviewing and making recommendations on the plan. The Office is seeking Fellows of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and may also appoint one other fully qualified actuary with equivalent fellowship status from another actuarial association, with applications due by 18 July 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
