The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (BQK) has adopted amendments to its regulation governing implementation of the Bonus-Malus system in the insurance sector for compulsory motor third-party liability cover. The changes address cases where a delay in vehicle registration led to the application of a lower bonus level, requiring insured persons to pay a higher premium despite having no reported traffic accident. The revised regulation was approved by the BQK Board on 25 June 2025 and will apply from 4 August 2025, allowing time for technical implementation in the IT system administered by the Kosovo Insurance Bureau. The review process also considered official communication with the Ombudsperson.
