Peru's Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Funds (SBS) has terminated the intervention regime imposed on Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito La Esperanza de Marcona after verifying that the trigger condition of a total loss of share capital and the cooperative reserve has been lifted. The decision also revokes the powers granted to Pierina Alvisy Llanos Romero and Silvia Patricia Claro Silvano, the intervenors appointed to run the intervention process. The revocation was ordered by SBS Resolution No. 04398-2025, notified on 18 December 2025. The cooperative had been placed under intervention by SBS Resolution No. 04049-2025, notified on 14 November 2025, after becoming subject to the total-loss-of-capital-and-reserve trigger; reported financial information showed negative equity of PEN -40,873,339.95 as at 30 September 2025.
