The Central Bank of Libya said Gov. Naji Issa met China’s ambassador to Libya to follow up on his April 18 talks with the governor of the People’s Bank of China and advance a new phase of cooperation between the two countries’ banking sectors. The discussions reviewed the roadmap for the strategic partnership between Libyan and Chinese banks and also covered the level of bilateral trade exchange. The meeting also began logistical preparations for an upcoming visit to China by a Libyan banking delegation led by Issa and including general managers of Libyan commercial banks. The visit is intended to build bilateral cooperation between commercial banks in both countries and to draw on China’s expertise in electronic payments and direct financial transfers.
