The National Bank of Moldova said Governor Anca Dragu met students and master's students from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova selected to join the first 2026 edition of the School of Modern Finance program. The sixth edition of the initiative, organized with the National Bank of Romania and the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, will run in Romania from July 25 to Aug. 2. Beyond training participants in economic and financial topics, the program is designed to turn them into financial education ambassadors in rural communities after the course ends. The bank described the program as a mix of lectures, applied discussions and meetings with practitioners and academics aimed at linking academic concepts to real economic and financial mechanisms. Students were selected through a competition and, after completing the program, are expected to organize financial education activities for people of different ages in rural areas, using practical examples to support more informed financial decisions. The agenda also includes visits to Iași, Sinaia, Brașov and Suceava. A second session is planned for the autumn, targeting journalism students at Moldova State University and media professionals who cover financial education topics.
