The Central Bank of the Philippines called for more proactive, forward-looking and collaborative regional supervision as geopolitical conflict, digital transformation, cybersecurity threats and climate-related financial risks increasingly interact. Governor Eli Remolona Jr. delivered the message at a South East Asian Central Banks Centre conference for financial stability and supervision officials. The central bank has expanded its use of artificial intelligence and supervisory technology in data analytics and incorporated climate-risk impacts into supervision. Conference participants also discussed stronger supervisory and crisis management frameworks, while a subsequent meeting focused on capacity-building and research covering financial stability, supervision, climate resilience, sustainable finance and payments.
