The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the National Bank of Kazakhstan, held a regular meeting in Almaty with the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan and the heads of second-tier banks to discuss current financial sector development issues. The agenda included market participants’ proposals on the new draft law on Banks and Banking Activity, consumer lending dynamics, and measures to prevent excessive debt burdens while encouraging lending to the economy. The meeting also covered the introduction of digital financial assets, with a detailed discussion of mechanisms for using the digital tenge. Participants reviewed measures to prevent fraud in the financial market, including the grounds for writing off fraudulent loans through out-of-court procedures and via the courts.
