The Central Bank of Luxembourg (BCL) reported that more than 600 visitors attended its public opening for European Heritage Days, exploring Luxembourg’s monetary history and the bank’s architectural heritage. The event traced the evolution of Luxembourg’s currency from the reign of William I to the introduction of euro banknotes and coins under Grand Duke Henri. Visitors also saw a preview of the film “Birth of a Coin,” dedicated to the new Luxembourg coins bearing the likeness of Grand Duke Guillaume. BCL staff discussed the bank’s functions and careers, while Governor Gaston Reinesch answered questions from the public.
