The JFSC confirmed the account is not associated with the Jersey Evening Post and, based on documentation it holds, shows signs of being set up for fraudulent purposes. It is not a registered company or registered business name in Jersey, does not have a registered address in Jersey, and is not registered with the JFSC to provide investment advice. The JFSC also said it is not aware of anyone named “Ivan Vykup” employed by a registered person in Jersey as an investment employee, and encouraged anyone who has had dealings with the account to contact its Enforcement team. The release also reiterates scam warning signs and advises recipients not to respond, click links, open attachments, share personal information or send money, and to verify regulatory and registry information via the JFSC website.
