The Bank of Cape Verde extended the deadline for its survey on payment instrument use to Oct. 9, 2026. The survey supports implementation of the Immediate and Inclusive Transfer System, a national public digital infrastructure intended to underpin immediate and inclusive payment services. The study examines how citizens use cash, payment cards, bank transfers, checks, mobile payments and other electronic methods. The findings will help identify payment preferences, factors driving cash use and opportunities to expand digital payments, while informing the development of immediate payment services for consumers and businesses.
