The Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA) issued a warning about alleged unauthorised activity under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024 linked to the website bitstorage.finance, reportedly operated by Bitstorage LTD. The FSA said the company does not, and has never, had authorisation to operate under the Act. Bitstorage LTD was previously incorporated under the International Business Companies Act but has since been struck off and dissolved effective 1 January 2023, meaning it is no longer a legal entity. The FSA reminded consumers to verify that any virtual asset service provider or related products are licensed and regulated in the jurisdiction they claim to operate from, noting that the FSA’s website lists authorised or licensed non-bank financial services providers and registrations of initial coin offerings and non-fungible tokens, and it encouraged the public to report suspected unlicensed VASP activity via its online form.
