The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) held the Third Meeting of its Fourth Employees’ Council in Dodoma, a two-day session focused on institutional development issues and priorities for Tanzania’s insurance sector. In opening remarks, Deputy Commissioner of Insurance and Council Vice Chair Khadija Said emphasised the council’s role in balancing management and staff interests and aligning shared performance goals. The update also highlighted ongoing reforms in TIRA’s operations, including strengthening digital systems, supporting an increase in new products in the market, expanding public education on insurance, and ensuring insurance service providers comply with applicable laws, regulations and service standards. The meeting included staff training on the internal communications network, ICT security, the organisational structure and mental health, alongside staff discussions on presented topics.
