Morocco's Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) has obtained ISO 9001/2015 certification for its quality management system covering activities across the lifecycle of agreements or authorisations for insurance product distributors. Issued by CERTI-TRUST, the certification covers processes for examining, issuing, modifying, and withdrawing agreements or authorisations for insurance intermediaries (agents and brokers), direct management offices, banking establishments, finance companies, microcredit associations, and payment institutions. ACAPS linked the certification to strengthening internal procedures for approvals and authorisations, including traceability, control of processing times, and service quality, with a focus on transparency, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements and management best practices. ACAPS noted that ISO 9001/2015 sets quality management requirements based on continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance, and introduces a risk-based approach, stronger leadership involvement, and greater document flexibility.
