The Rwanda Capital Markets Authority hosted a webinar on the regulatory landscape for FinTech, positioning its Fintech Regulatory Sandbox as a central tool to enable innovation while maintaining responsible market practices, investor protection and market integrity. Discussions with public- and private-sector stakeholders focused on the need for regulatory clarity and strategic collaboration to build a tech-driven financial ecosystem. Rwanda Finance Ltd linked this agenda to Rwanda’s ambition to develop the Kigali International Financial Centre and attract global investors and technology-driven financial services. The CMA’s sandbox was presented as a mechanism for firms to test solutions while navigating regulatory requirements and for the authority to refine policies in response to emerging trends, with BK Capital and Moneto Ventures citing the sandbox’s role in piloting digital investment offerings and testing the Tunzi App within a structured compliance environment.
