The Bank of Cape Verde reported that its Governor, Óscar Santos, and the Auditor General for the Securities Market, Ana Semedo, participated in the 50th Summit of Central Banks of Francophone Countries, hosted by the National Bank of Belgium in Brussels on 25–26 March 2025, with cybersecurity as the central theme. The summit was framed as a knowledge-sharing forum for financial sector supervisors to strengthen the control and mitigation of cyber threats while preserving the benefits of technological innovation. The programme covered generative artificial intelligence for cybersecurity, the experience of implementing a Zero Trust strategy at the central banks of France and Canada, secure migration to cloud services without lowering cybersecurity standards, awareness-raising on the use of generative AI alongside responsible and vigilant use in light of threats, and Belgium’s methodology for inspecting financial institutions on cybersecurity.
