The National Bank of Poland reported that official reserve assets stood at EUR 260.1 billion at the end of September 2026, down EUR 2.9 billion from the end of August. In U.S. dollar terms, reserves declined by USD 9.5 billion to USD 295.4 billion. The central bank manages the reserves primarily for safety and liquidity, followed by long-term returns. Most assets are invested in Treasury securities, with additional holdings in non-government debt, investment fund units providing global equity exposure, and short-term deposits at highly rated banks.
