The Guernsey Financial Services Commission published a feedback paper on its December 2024 consultation on equity release and released a red-lined final version of the Lending, Credit and Finance Rules and Guidance, incorporating amendments made in response to consultation feedback. The red-lined document highlights the consultation proposals in red and the changes made following feedback in blue. The Commission confirmed it will begin accepting licensing applications to provide equity release products, or to advise on them, from 1 January 2026, aligned with the enactment of amendments to the Lending, Credit and Finance (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2022 and the entry into force of the new rules. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the Commission in advance of the application window.
