The Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency of Türkiye has put into force a new circular aimed at blocking unlawful claims intermediation structures operating in traffic insurance. The measure forms the fourth stage of an action plan designed to minimize disputes over vehicle value loss claims and to make compensation handling more effective, fair and faster. The circular targets entities that engage in claims intermediation contrary to the law and cause consumer detriment. It is intended to support more effective use of judicial and administrative sanctions against those structures so that claims processes are concluded directly with insurance companies. Earlier stages of the action plan had already introduced three structural changes: standardized expert calculations, a smart system for expert appointments, and calculation and payment of value loss compensation together with material damage compensation without requiring an additional application from the claimant. As the fifth stage of the plan, a Common Damage Notification Center will be launched in the near term, with all insurance companies integrated into the system, to allow accident notifications to be submitted quickly through a single center.
