The Central Bank of Belize announced the successful launch of APSSS 2.0, an upgraded Automated Payments and Securities Settlement System, as part of its efforts to modernize Belize’s National Payment System and support monetary policy implementation and capital market development. Delivered in collaboration with the Government of Belize and domestic financial institutions, APSSS 2.0 is intended to improve payment processing efficiency, enhance payment security, and adopt the SWIFT ISO 20022 international messaging standard, enabling richer, more structured and globally standardized transaction data.
