The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported that it held a meeting as part of the 2025 International Monetary Fund (IMF) Article IV consultations with Uzbekistan. The discussions covered 2024 macroeconomic conditions, recent changes in monetary and macroprudential policy, and the 2025 outlook, including planned measures to support monetary policy implementation and financial stability. The IMF mission is expected to continue meetings with other ministries, government agencies and commercial banks. The central bank noted that Article IV consultations are used by the IMF to analyse economic developments, monitor central bank monetary policy and assess reforms to the banking system.
