The Ukraine National Commission on Securities and Stock Market held an inter-agency meeting to discuss approaches to introducing distributed ledger technology (DLT) in capital markets, including the potential use of real-world asset (RWA) tokens and the rollout of capital markets infrastructure based on DLT. The meeting included Commission Chair Oleksii Semeniuk and commissioners Arsen Ilin and Yurii Shapoval, alongside representatives from Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the National Depository of Ukraine. Participants highlighted that innovation should be developed in line with regulatory requirements and the readiness of market infrastructure. The authorities agreed to continue work at a technical level with key institutions to develop a coordinated approach for further DLT implementation.
